Missions Conference
October 17-20, 2010

 2010

Stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.  Philippians 1:27

The Logic of Missions

We face a humanity that is too precious to neglect.

We know a remedy for the ills of the world too wonderful to withhold.

We have a Christ who is too glorious to hide.

We have an adventure that is too thrilling to miss.

Kristine McLaughlin - Ivory Coast

We are presently in a planning phase in two of our ministries - the village outreach and the evangelistic clinic.  We are in contact with the "chief of the chiefs" of the villages in our area according to the tribal system.  We will be having a lunch meeting at my home with representatives from both the clinic and our church.  The weight of these meetings cannot be underestimated as they have a part in determining the direction that we take.  We are praying for the Lord to give us much wisdom.  Our heart is for reaching souls.  Please pray that the Lord would open up just the right doors for both of these ministries.

Ron and Nancy Minton - Ukraine

After visiting some churches, we took and finished an intensive two-month Russian Language course on July 30, 2010.  It was a challenge to say the least.  Nancy and I both passed.  This will really help in our Ukraine ministry.

On August 1, we formally started our furlough and have been in several great missions conferences.  Now we are reporting what God has done in Ukraine.

- We now have 25 pastors who are taking our classes.

- We now have classes in seven Ukraine cites - three main regions.

- Our goal of 100 total students was surpassed - we have had over 500.

We sent Tanya K, our translator, to the Philippines to work with missionaries Dennis and Gloria Ebert for four months. She is studying English, the Bible, and theology there.   It was quite a change from Ukraine to the tropics.

In September our fall 2010 classes start up in Ukraine.  With a lot of planning and help, we are able to keep all our scheduled courses going while we are on furlough.

Please pray for:

- all our helpers in Ukraine to do well

- all the Bible college students and teachers

- traveling mercies and health for us during the days ahead

Missionary Family serving in Uganda

A few weeks ago Muslim terrorists bombed several places in Kampala killing 74 people.  One of the places that was bombed is a restaurant that my wife and I have eaten at before.  We praise the Lord that none of our people were hurt.  It has been said that the terrorists are planning more attacks so please continue to pray for the safety of our people.

Larry & Judy Sexton - Central America

Thank you for your faithful prayers for our recent Bible-teaching tour of Mexico.  We had intended to send email updates along the way, but server problems prevented it.  God really blessed His Word.  Many hearts were blessed and souls were saved.  Once we arrived back into the States, I immediately started working on the course of study, The General Epistles.  We trust this will be ready by the time we leave for Honduras on or around July 20.  At the present, I am recovering from a hard case of the shingles which has greatly hindered my work.  Judy is hard at work putting the course into the computer, so we can print and bind.  The Bible Institute in Ruiz, Nayarit, Mexico graduated three this year.  We expect to graduate five in Honduras in October.  The total number of graduates in both Mexico and Honduras is fast approaching 100.  Some have sadly fallen by the wayside, while others have become outstanding servants of the Lord and are pioneering the gospel into unreached areas.  The next few days before leaving for Honduras, are going to be filled with urgent activity for which we greatly need your prayers.  Our prayer needs:

· We need to find new property for the Bible Institute

· Much preparation remains for the arrival of the Trask family on September 8.  They have now completed language school and are making final arrangements for moving down.

· Pray for spiritual revival in all of our churches in La Mosquitia (Honduras) and especially the advancement of the gospel in the Patuca River area.

Praise:  In these tough economic times, we are grateful to report that we have not suffered loss.  Thank you for your sacrifice and faithfulness.  Surely we shall SOON see the Lord of the harvest.  When He comes, those found faithful will be rewarded.
