Our History
The Leon Valley Baptist Church began in October 1984 with Pastor Jones as the founding Pastor. From the initial beginnings in a YMCA in 1984, the church then moved to a location at the corner of Callaghan and Bandera where it stayed for years. From there, the Lord moved them to another temporary location, an office building that was crafted to suit the church's purposes. In 1992 the Lord finally gave the Leon Valley Baptist Church its own current property at 7990 Grissom road where it has now grown out of its original sanctuary.
The goal of the Leon Valley Baptist Church is to minister to the people in the local area through the local church and to the world through missionary endeavors. For more about our missionary outreaches, visit our missions page .
